New article, book & exhibition June 2010:
Caught between violence and deportation
BilledeImmigrant women risk being trapped in marriages with violent men as a consequence of Danish immigration laws. To obtain permanent residency, a woman must have lived in the country for seven years and cannot leave a violent marriage in this period without facing deportation.

The new book and photo exhibition Seven tells the stories of 30 mistreated women, and acclaimed author Kirsten Thorup discusses their situation in her preface to the book.

Easier to find women experts in Middle East
BilledeWith the newly launched databases 'Who is She in Jordan' and 'Who is She in Lebanon', companies, journalists, and others now have access to a unique tool for finding women with specific qualifications and skills.

The databases present women experts from all areas of society through comprehensive CVs and are designed to heighten the visibility of women’s professional competencies in the Middle East. The project is a development of KVINFO's Danish database of women experts and include an Egyption version to be launched later.
